I have, uh, a lot of *emotions* about having to put HotStuff on the shelf for the forseeable future. Instead of getting wishy-washy, let me say that I love all of you who’ve been with us these last few years. You I appreciate the hell out of each and every one of you, and will continue to do so no matter where the comic may go.

So, before anything else, I’d like to give a big huge enormous THANK YOU to every single person who has been following this comic. You guys are the people who keep me moving, and I am totally, endlessly thankful for your support.

That being said, I’ve had to make a really tough decision. I’m currently in the middle of several projects with Spring deadlines, as well as a new part time job on the side. HotStuff is currently taking up time that needs to go elsewhere. It’s been updating consistently since 2012, and on top of schedule constraints I’ve reached a point of burnout on this comic. For these reasons, I have to put HotStuff on the shelf for a bit.

Here’s how this will go: I will be updating on schedule until the end of Loyle’s current flashback. That will take us into the new year, at which point updates for chapter 5 will continue on an irregular “as I have time for it” basis. The state of the comic after that will rely on my work schedule and my willingness/ability to come back to the material.

I’m sorry to have to do this. If you can believe it, I’ve been sitting on this post for a month - this was the last thing I ever wanted to do to my comic. But, those are the circumstances, and here we are.

Thank you again to everyone who has been following this story. Your support and feedback means the world. If circumstances change at any point and allow me to continue, I will absolutely let you know.

I can’t post most of the finished work I’m doing right now for various reasons, but I’m going to try to remember to upload some of my sketchy stuff I’ve been slacking on.

Here’s a weird cast of sumos! I have no current plans for them and nowhere to throw them, but here they are anyway. Kyushu basho is happening at the moment, so I figured now’s as good a time as any.
